117 Final Words – Jim Rosser

On the morning of July 30 and the age of 100, Jim Rosser fell asleep in the Lord. Jim was born in 1926, between the wars a few years before the Great Depression and subsequently lived many decades of service in Christ. This touching recording captures the final public words of Brother Jim Rosser, delivered via Zoom in 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though he was well into his nineties and had lost his physical eyesight, he spoke with remarkable clarity and conviction from his heart and mind, offering a lifetime of spiritual wisdom. They were his last public words. His message serves as a powerful testament to a life of faith and a final exhortation to those seeking to walk with Christ. In this message, Jim explores the profound theme of how Christ dwells in the believer through His word, providing “heaven’s help” to overcome the human condition. He describes the human body as a house with many rooms, urging that Christ be given total access to every part of one’s life rather than just a partial invitation. Tracing the history of redemption from the Fall in Eden to the crucifixion, he highlights Jesus as the only man to perfectly return his free will to God, ultimately conquering death to become the victor of the “dark domain”. His exhortation, his last words of advice, his appeal, concludes with a stirring vision of the future Kingdom, where the dwelling place of God is finally with man and all tears, pain, and death are wiped away forever.
